My Little Hero

The hubs has recently been away for work (and will be traveling a whole lot more in future) and so he left the other man, er...let's just call him little man in charge of looking after the ladies at home particularly his mom and his little sister.

Like all children his age, he has his mischievous ways but during this past one and a half weeks, more often than not, he has been nothing but really an angel- sweet and caring.

Ethan made sure that his little sister and me (who caught the damn flu bug from THE NUMBER ONE SUSPECT, Chloe) took our medicine regularly, applied vapourub on ourselves and drank heaps of water. Some nights, I pretended to be asleep just so that I could watch his next move. With one eye slightly raised open, I'd watch him come down the bed, walk over to my side and pull the blanket over me just so that I can be nice and tightly snug in bed. He even made sure that I was comfortable by making me hug a soft cushioned neck pillow. I remember one night when he woke up to pee and just as he was entering the room, there was this loud cricketing sound that we both heard. I got anal and asked him if he heard that and my little hero replied, "Don't worry mom, its nothing. Go back to sleep. You need to work tomorrow." He continued further, "I promised papa to take care of Meimei and you whenever he goes away".

Words could not express how I felt at that moment. I thought to myself, my little boy, my little hero is growing up as I beamed with pride.

Welcome Back Hon!

It's just past midnite and I can't get to sleep! For once, this is one Monday I've been looking forward to and the next five hours seems FOREVER!

The excitement of waiting for the hubster to come back from the US of A is just too much! It's been a mighty long time since he's gone away this L-O-N-G. The last I remember was his National Service days.

The kids are excited too and I really had a hard time earlier getting them to go to bed with the older one checking the clock everytime and anxiously looking and waiting for my cellphone to ring hoping to hear daddy dearest on the other line.

With all this said, I think I had better get used to this as he is going to be travelling a hell lot more in future. Sigh.
Think I just have to look on the bright side of life. DFS anyone?

to Tat or not Too?

These guys are part of the gang from Reality TV show, Miami's Ink.

For one, I certainly am not a great fan of reality TV but this is one show that really got the hubster and me glued onto the gogglebox every Sunday night. The six buggers (yes Yoji included!) really really are a bunch of extremely skillful lads and er, ladress (Kat being the only female in the group).

They are so good in what they do that it even makes me want to travel all the way to Miami just so that I can have my third tattoo-ed by Chris. (yes dear, I really am serious about number 3!) Of course, this is just wishful thinking. (But but I don't mean wishful thinking about number 3, I want to stress that again, darling!)

It brings back all the memories when my best buds from school and me got our first ink eons ago at Two Thumbs. Remember the hiliarious Saturday afternoon gals? Yes Anna, I finally have to admit to you that it is addictive and also I was somewhat secretly proud of you when you went ahead with your first tattoo even though I was DEAD AGAINST IT at that time. Scolded you to bits right? But you can't blame me then cause that was the same period where I thought I had the calling to enter the convent remember?

PS. Dearest bro-in-law Zach, hurry up already with the design and artwork before your bro changes his mind will you?!

Aww Man! Is it Monday already?

Woke up this morning and really P-U-S-H-E-D myself outta bed. Is it Monday already? The weekend swang-by before I could even say TGIF!

I expected a massive jam around the Raffles Boulevard area being the first day of the the IMF Bank Meeting. Did not even bother to wait for the shuttle service from Cityhall to Millenia and decided to walk instead. Thought I did good time by taking only 12 minutes! It was quite a smooth walk and not as crowded as I had expected. In fact, the walk was a breeze.

Hopefully it'd be like that till the 20th when the meeting ends and when traffic at the Raffles Boulevard resumes back to normal.

Till then, I think I hear the bed calling out to me. Better go now else it'd be PAINFUL to get up again tomorrow.
Over and out ;0)

muckamuck!!

It's one of those nights where I'm just so tired but somehow can't get to sleep (God dammit!) I wonder how in three hours time I have to be up and about, ready for work (God help me!)

Switched on the telly hoping to catch something that would eventually bore me to sleep. Was channel surfing when I chanced on cable's Channel 16 which was showing Jamie Oliver's cookery programme Oliver's Twist. I've recently become a great fan of his. I've always enjoyed cooking - thanks to my mother who is an Absolutely Astonishing Great Cook!

But back to Jamie, he is simply a genius! He makes the most difficult thing to cook look damn simple and easy to prepare. The way he is so passionate about the herbs, fresh succulent seafood and juicy meats just makes me want to try out all the recipes ...irregardless of whether anyone wants to eat them or not!

Now raise up your hands people - all you who are gamed to be my guinea pigs!!

At this juncture, I'd like to congratulate J (bro-in-law) and J (sis) on the 'akan datang' baby number 3. Better start choosing Godparents early k! (Hint Hint)

To my two lovely nieces,
Even with your third sibling on the way, I still love you both extremely much and will continue to spoil you both like crazy!
C : Wow!! Soon you will be affectionately known as 'ta-jie'!
L : And you will no longer be baby no more, you will be 'er-jie'!
Both of your Holland Village drama serial roles will be for real!!

ABS-olutely feeling it....

Check out the pic on the left. This has been my dream as far back as I can remember. Well actually, the moment I saw Janet Jackson's IF video clip.

The topic this morning in the office pantry revolved around ABT - abs, butts and thighs. There were many different opinions on this topic, I must say. Whilst some feel that with today's many aesthetics options, all one need is an appointment with the doctor and a whole load of cash! (That is, if you have a whole load of $$$ to spare!) Others feel that the only way out is by doing it the hard way - to some it may be hard work, to others nothing beats the high feeling of sweating it out in the gym!

I fall into the second category. I've always believed in sweating it out in the gym. You know, the NO PAIN, NO GAIN sort. Well at least, this has been proven to me by me about six years ago when I was preparing for THE BIG DAY.

Those were the days when I used to be a gym fanatic/junkie whatever you'd call it! Of course, it was just the hubs (then boyfriend) and me back then so I had a whole load of time on my hands! Thrice daily at the gym (YES! weekends included) was nothing but the norm! Don't ask me now how I had managed but really, I DID IT!! In fact, I'd get withdrawal symptoms just by missing a kickboxing class or a good kickass bodypump session.

These days, the spirit is oh so willing but the flesh is damn super duper weak! TIME is what I lack. I keep giving myself this excuse. With the kids around and plus heaps of work thrown in... "How to?" I tell friends who had known me from my gym fanatic days.

The answers I got were SACRIFICE and WILLPOWER. SACRIFICE abit of sleep, my friends tell me. Its a bit though initially but ah, that's when WILLPOWER kicks in. You must push yourself in order to get that butt moving! These days, I've been pushing myself outta bed by getting up about 1.5 hours earlier so that I can squeeze in abit of a morning workout before work.

After a few days, its slowly becoming a routine and I'm also starting to feel all good about myself. Let's hope it stays this way. ~fingers and toes crossed~

PS. I am soooo gonna win this one darling!! :)))))

Homework

The older one has learnt to memorize my cellphone number about 3 months ago.

Since then, he'd be calling me once every other minute. Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy receiving the calls. Many a times, I'd find myself eagerly anticipating for the cellphone to ring even!

Since it's Teacher's Day and a school holiday, both kids are home. I set out some homework for the older one to complete before I left for work and didn't realize that hubster too, had also done the same for the older one before he had set off to work!

Here I am at work when i received the first call of the day from E. He was crying! (My heart skipped ten beats!) Asked him why, in between sobs, he innocently replied..."You made me do three pages of the assessment book but Daddy only made me do two...sob ..sob!" "So why are you crying then?" I was puzzled. He cried further, "But Mummy, I want to do three pages and not two!"
