out with the old....IN WITH THE NEW!

Thanks to our internet being down, moving outta our home and now that we are staying with mom (whilst waiting for our new home to be ready)and thus have limited access to the internet, plus the kids are back at school so I'm busy busy BUSY, I have not even properly explored my lappy (thanks for the gift, hon :))) btw) I now have no excuse to go AWOL from blogging.

So its a new year..and we are into the 3rd day of the lunar calendar. I am thinking about resolutions though I told myself beginning of the year not to make any (coz I'd normally have problems keeping them or worst...I tend to forget about the resolutions made!) The only promise I kept to myself was that last year, I promised to save money every month which I am so proud to say that I did faithfully. Unfortunately, December came and I sorta almost blew it all away on shopping and Christmas gifts. But I made the people around me darn happy! Yes, I am a generous person, if you don't already know.

Here are my thoughts and resolutions for 2009 :

1. Be THE BEST WIFE to my husband and THE BEST MOTHER to my lovely chidren, Ethan and Chloe. I don't need to strive to be THE BEST DAUGHTER, I know I already am ;) Hee.

2. To chuck out negative people from my life.

3. To also chuck out sly and selfish people from my life who :

a. Never give a damn about how you are doing unless you call on them first. Sheesh!
b. Never invite you to their parties unless you invite them first.
c. Pretend to be all chummy and friendly but who actually have low self esteem and no confidence so they sneak glances at you, you know, the kind of relationships that you have with the people around you who are secretly envious and jealous of your life.
d. Treat my parents with disrepect by ignoring the fact how kind and accomodating they have been.
e. Who have too much free time on their hands obsessing about other people. I mean really...get a life already! No one cares and we are all laughing at you when we do find the 30 secs of our time.

So that's it! 2009 is going to be a clean year for me. Yeah!

Where did 2008 go?

2008 flew by sooooo fast. Literally in a blink of an eye. I remember celebrating Christmas 2007, followed by New Year and when the new school year reopened in 2008, I so remember thinking to myself that I've still got time before our older boy goes into primary school. I also remembered that just when I was feasting Chinese New Year goodies (particularly the sinful bakwa), I had to fast as it was Lent which was quickly followed by Good Friday. Oh! I also remember being stuck in F1 related jams. Boy, was it a nightmare to commute to and from work during that period!

2008 has been a year of incredible changes. I strongly feel that at times, the years whip by and blend into one another and you just cant seem to make out their particular flavours. But 2008's different, its a year where my life changed drastically - career wise and personal life wise.

On the personal front, who would have thought that the whole family would travel to Europe to visit good old Uncle Mickey (who was looking well and good, I must admit) during Summer last year? It was totally unplanned but yet planned when the time came and did we have the time of our lives or what! Mom and her youngest brother finally got to see each other again ...after 30 years! Hubs and me spent so much time bonding with the kiddos that I bet this holiday will forever be etched in their minds...I mean this was the trip where they experienced their first aeroplane ride, first Eurostar train ride, first up close and almost personal encounter with a gorilla at the London Zoo, first visit to the Eiffel Tower etc.

At work, there has been many, many disappointments, a great deal of uncertainties and incredible unbearable pain. We were really a family. A big, damn happy family that's been divided and broken. So many colleagues ...erm, friends...NO! Family members lost and gone. I've cried and cried buckets...but I've also managed to lick my wounds and I'm still here.

I'm still hopeful.
I still believe that things will eventually fall into place.
I still believe that HE is watching and has something in store for us.
I still believe in the goodness of other people.
I still believe in joy and laughter and friendship.
I still believe and love my family to death.
And I still believe in LOVE.
